The Tai Chi Way

So, the tai chi life is a life of gentleness, softness, peace, innocence, love, and compassion. It is a life of balance, patience, equanimity, and perseverence. It is a life of recognizing the joy, the good, the spontaneous, the creative, in everything around us, everything we experience. Taoism teaches us that life is a spontaneous creation, coming out of wuji, the yin and yang interplay, and in balance, they create the yin yang symbol, or great tai chi. Tai chi itself is a play of sorts, an archtypal rendition or microcosm of life. It is not just an encyclopedia of movements, which it is, it is an encyclopedia of life. Your attitude is everything. And this world is a world of change. Things happen, good and bad. And tai chi teaches us how to deal with the good times and with the adversity. So, deal with the hard and mean with soft and gentle, and watch the magic of tai chi work. This does not mean becoming a doormat! It’s more like the effectiveness of non-violent resistance–it is peaceful, but it is effective and very active.
