Tai Chi Vices and Virtues

The Tai Chi Life is more than just the practice of forms. It is a call to a higher path as expounded upon in the I Ching, the Tao te Ching, and the unspoken martial code. The contemplative practice of tai chi chuan calls us to certain virtues of character and to eschew certain vices.

Borrowing from my Catholic World, I present these to you for contemplation and for honest assessment of where you are in your life with them. If you can’t figure it out, the vices are on the left and the corresponding virtues are on the right.(I took this list from Wikipedia).

Lust Chastitiy
Gluttony Temperence
Greed Charity
Sloth Diligence
Wrath Patience
Envy Kindness
Pride Humility

  1. I’m Catholic myself.

I’ll just say that when I’m practicing regularly, I’m a getter person in every way.
