Awareness

Practicing tai chi, with its focus on movement and with what’s going on inside your body, creates a heightened sense of awareness, both of yourself, and of everything around you. This awareness develops and becomes strong so that, even when you’re not doing tai chi, in your everyday life, you will be more aware of your surroundings. I think every tai chi practitioner has amazed him or herself when they catch a falling cup or other object without thinking. It becomes automatic.

You also become aware of your internal self, physically, emotionally, spiritually. So, “sit” into your stance, move slowly, and become aware!
